What's the difference between University of Bristol and the University of West England Bristol? This year I will start my degree in the U.K and some people suggested me to apply to Bristol as appears to be a nice city for students. When I was applying through UCAS I selected UWE( university of west of England) and apparently it is totally different from the University of Bristol. I would prefer University of Bristol because is one of the best universities in the universities' ranking of the United Kingdom, EWU seems to have a lower level. EWU has offer me a place in the degree I wish to do. What should I do?

Durham University V Bristol University? I have offers from both of them and I like Bristol for the city and the university - I haven't been to Durham yet but can someone who knows both let me know the good and bad points of both of them, by comparing them? University of bristol or Leicester? hello everyone, i have passed out 12th this year and applied for UK education. good news is that i got into university of bristol and leicester. i am not much aware of which one is better but as per the rankings BRISTOL is at 7th place and LEICESTER is at 18th. as per the course is concerned, i have taken management with accounting in bristol and management with mathematics in leicester. basically i am not very good at accounts. i got 70 in accounts but 92 in maths and i like having maths. so you people please help me in choosing.

Sheffield University or Bristol University? Please please please can I have some advice, it would be much appreciated. I'm torn between choosing Biomedical Sciences at Sheffield and Anatomical Sciences at Bristol. I have to decide very soon, and I just can't at the moment! I loved Sheffield when I visited on the Open Day, and the course sounds good too. I like Bristol also and the course also sounds really interesting. I liked the atmosphere at Sheffield, I didn't get an Open Day at Bristol because I was given a very late offer (which angers me slightly but is not part of the decision!) I did visit it though and spoke to the head of department and a post grad. The department is small, which I wasn't keen on but I suppose would be better for teaching. At Sheffield it is pretty big which I like but I suppose wouldn't be that as good for teaching... A lot of people, my dad especially, keep going on about how Bristol is so much better and beautiful. Yes it does rank higher, in Biological Sciences Bristol is 3rd and Sheffield 4th. Sheffield beats Bristol at student satisfaction. I would have chosen Sheffield if I didn't get in at Bristol (coz I heard from them so late I thought I'd been rejected.) I don't know if I'm trying to please my Dad and everyone else who has told me Bristol (no one has told me Sheffield!) by holding out on this decision. I just don't want to regret my choice. Any advice would be helpful, especially from people who go to either of the universities, or are/have been stuck in a similar situation!

Need Advice: Studying Abroad at the University of Bristol? Hello everyone, In a couple weeks, I will be studying abroad at the University of Bristol. I am a female from the USA and will be entering my 3rd/junior year. I am simply looking for some advice on the following, so that I can make sure I am prepared. a. dress (examples- tops, bottoms, and shoes) b. weather (Is England really as cold and rainy as everyone thinks?) c. popular books and movies in England d. As an American what should I avoid doing? In other words, what kind of behavior/dress/etc. screams American or is seen as terribly impolite? e. Is there anything I should know about Bristol or the University? f. Banks in the area (ones closest to the university are best) g. Expenses (Is Bristol an expensive city?) Im going to University in Bristol come September and Im afraid travel costs will break me & my girlfriend up.? She lives near Wrexham (North Wales) and myself near Birmingham/Wolverhampton in the midlands. Currently we spend around 20 pounds for an open return via train (ten pounds each) to see one another which is quite reasonable considering the distance (roughly 100 miles/1h30m journey). However come September I will hopefully have a place at Bristol UWE University (3 year English Literature Course) and she will move onto complete a foundation course (1 year) at a local College. The distance will be even greater along with the travel costs and time, Im terrified that we will not be able to find a cost effective method of seeing one another alongside both holding down jobs to support ourselves. Please Im freaking out, I would appreciate any advice/help you may offer! I will be posting this twice, in both the Travel and Relationship categories. Thank you so much for your time! James xxx

When do bristol and durham university give offers? Ucas received my application on the 4th december. In january i got offers from reading, birmingham and newcastle and am now just waiting on bristol and durham.
